Action-Track 100 Full Depth Color

Overview

Our Action-Track® Running Tracks have beneficial characteristics:

Resilient: Our tracks retain their resiliency, regardless of the temperature.

Fast: Our tracks deliver greater energy return to the runner. They provide ultra-quick spike release, a key feature in achieving maximum athletic performance.

Safe: Water drains through the surface, eliminating slick spots. The surface is textured and tailored to provide high friction in both wet and dry conditions.

Durable: Our track system “breathes” to release moisture that could build-up beneath the surface – improving surface longevity.

The intent of this specification is to provide a guideline for the improvement of a previously sound bituminous concrete sub-base. Action-Track 100 Full Depth Color is a vented running track surface consisting of a urethane bound EPDM rubber base mat, IN FULL DEPTH COLOR

The work covered by this specification consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and performance of all operations in connection with the installation of the surface on track and field events.

  • EPDM Rubber Base Mat Granulate, 1 mm to 3mm or 1 mm to 4mm rubber containing no dust. (Full Depth Color.)
  • 100% polyurethane base mat binding agent tinted to match color of EPDM rubber
  • Polyurethane Line Marking Paint

 4. Surface Preparation

  • After a suitable soil sterilant, a recommended bottom course shall consist of 4″ to 8″ of compacted crushed stone, gravel, or suitable aggregate over a firm, stable frost-free sub-grade which has been brought to proper contour and elevation in strict accordance with drawings and/or specifications, and compacted to 95% density.
  • A binder-leveling course of an open-textured bituminous concrete (maximum stone size of 3/4″) is laid upon the prepared bottom course to a compacted thickness of 2.5″.
  • The wearing (top) bituminous concrete course consists of 3/8″ maximum aggregate to a thickness of 1.5″ compacted.

5. Planarity and Slope
Before application of the surface course the receiving surface should be checked for proper planarity and slope. All corrective work shall be performed to provide a safe, functional and well draining surface. For cross slope and inclination tolerances please refer to the appropriate governing body (NFSHA, NCAA, IAAF)

6. Procedure

  • Following inspection of asphalt base and required curing time, the entire area to be surfaced shall be thoroughly cleaned, removing any foreign and loose material.
  • Action-Track Polyurethane Primer will then be applied to the entire surface uniformly at a rate of not less than .3 lbs. pee sq. yd. Allowing a minimum of 30 minutes curing time before the application of the base mat material.

This mixture is prepared in a mechanical mixer which is clean and dry. The base mat is applied with a mechanically operated screed machine which has an electrically heated screed. All joint work will be flush with the adjacent mat. Joints which have cured will have their edges primed with Action-Track Polyurethane Primer (base mat is full depth color).

I have had the privilege of working closely with Copeland Coating Company over the years in the development of our tennis facilities at Saratoga Springs High School and Middle School.

I have always found them to be easy to work with during and after the completion of their work. They were always available to advise when needed. They are the best at what they do and I highly recommend them!

Track & Field has always been a major part of my life.  I was an athlete from a young age growing up in New York and now a Master official and high school track & field coach.  Never did I imagine that I would have the ability and opportunity to build a track & field facility.

Every detail was planned carefully.  It was very important to me to choose the correct workers and companies that would make my dream a reality.  Most of the workers were local with many being Bethel track & field alumni and families.  When it came to choosing a track surfacing company, the choices were many, but one significantly stood out from the rest….Action Track Surfacing.

My first meeting with Steve Hinding & Doug Stone left me with an impression of honesty and commitment, as well as superior knowledge and expertise.   They listened carefully to my desires and needs. They offered suggestions and a well organized plan to accomplish my goal.  They were as concerned with completing a high quality track facility as I was.  Every question was met with a timely answer.  There were no hidden costs.  The project was completed in the contracted budget with no surprises.  Their crews worked perfectly with in the time table.  They were clean, hard working and professional…even to the point of cutting a slot drain on their hands and knees to meet the desired design!  Steve has been back several times to check the quality of his work.  Action Track has made sure that I am completely satisfied with the project.

Each day I arrive at the facility it takes my breath away.  The beautiful 8 lane track, javelin runway, and sealed walkways, all completed by Action Track Surfacing, have given my team and the town of Bethel a first class track & field facility!  I would highly recommend their services for all track & field surfacing needs.

We’ve been working with Copeland Coating for the past 20 years and never once have they disappointed us. The window of time with which they have to work with seems to shrink each year based on colder and wetter winters, yet each year they somehow figure out how to complete their work on time, and to perfection. The staff at Copeland are great to work with and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top quality workmanship.

Andy Siegel Tyler Hill Camp

Vassar College has experienced a very good working relationship with Copeland Coating during the past 8 years. We currently have 3 separate tiers of courts consisting of; 6 varsity courts in the north tier, 3 campus use courts in the center tier and 4 campus/local community use courts in the south tier.

Copeland management and their front line crew have always responded in a timely manner and have worked under very tight schedules to prepare our courts for the fall tennis season. They reconfigured our center tier from 4 to 3 doubles courts per a request from the tennis coaching staff with excellent results and have coated our south tier courts in a manner that will lengthen the useful life even though major renovation work is clearly needed.
I can confidently recommend Copeland Coating for tennis court re-coating and overall renovation work and should add that they are very competitive in their pricing.
