John R. Copeland – President – Sales & Administration

John graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1973 and started Copeland Coating Company that same year. This extended the legacy of his families Connecticut based athletic surfacing and pavement maintenance business. Copeland coating Co. manufactures as well as installs athletic surface systems and pavement maintenance products throughout the northeast. John’s years of experience, his dedication to quality and service and his rapport with contractors and customers alike has attributed to Copeland’s great reputation.

Steven W. Hinding – Vice President – Sales & Administration

Steve is a 1981 graduate of the University of Connecticut with over 30 years’ experience in the athletic surfacing business. Steve shares John’s dedication to quality and service and has made a valuable contribution to Copeland’s growth since 1990.

Matthew Mitchell – Controller / Chief Financial Officer

A 1989 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Matt graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance. After several years in the public accounting world of auditing businesses Matt felt he could make more of a contribution in the private sector. Matt has been instrumental in Copeland’s growth and strong financial position.

Rick Kment III – Plant Manager

Rick Kment III has been with Copeland Coating since 1993. Rick’s responsibilities include production, quality control and delivery. Rick has designed and fabricated most of the manufacturing systems for Copeland Coating Co. and continues, with his hands on approach, to insure the quality of all products manufactured and distributed.

Steve Puzio – Special Projects / SalesManager

Steve has been with Copeland since 1974. Steve has been an expert surface installer for many years. His vast experience makes him a very knowledgeable and capable salesman as well as a natural choice for managing special installation projects.

Peter Kulzer – Installation Production Manager

Peter Kulzer has been an expert surface installer for over 20 years. Today, Peter’s responsibilities include the scheduling and coordinating of the entire contracting workload at Copeland. He is also instrumental in employee training.

Doug Stone – General Manager – Running Tracks

Doug Stone has been experienced in running track surfacing with Copeland since 1980. Doug started as an installer and worked up to management level. His duties include full project management and sales. Doug is known for his skills relative to operations and has gained a wealth of experience over the years by overseeing hundreds of running track and other special projects for Copeland Coating Co., Inc.

Albert N. Giamei Jr. – Sales / Senior Project Manager (CTCB – Certified Tennis Court Builder)

Albert Giamei has been with Copeland since 1981. Albert is a graduate of Suny Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Albert has worked in all areas of Copeland Coatings’ applied divisions. His years of hands on experience in the applied field is unsurpassed in the industry. Albert is one of 50 Certified Tennis Court Builders (sanctioned by the American Sports Builders Association) in the United States.

Michael Edgerton – Sales / Senior Project Manager (CTCB – Certified Tennis Court Builder)

Michael Edgerton has been in the recreational coating industry since 1987. Michael graduated from Suny Oswego with a degree in Business Marketing. His sales experience ranges from working for both coating manufacturers and coating applicating contractors. Michael is one of 50 Certified Tennis Court Builders (sanctioned by the American Sports Builders Association) in the United States. Michael also serves as a board member of American Sports Builders Association

Dawn Brutsch

Dawn started at Copeland in 1993 working in our manufacturing department. She has a Bachelors Degree from SUNY Albany. Since 2001, Dawn has worked in the office in various positions and now is our Accounts Payable Clerk. In addition to those duities Dawn is most often the first person customes hear on the phone or meet at the counter for customer sales. Dawn is also involved with manufacturing, trucking and sales. Lastly Dawn is the green thumb that is responsible for keeping our beautiful landscaping in check.

Michelle Kment

Michelle Kment has been with Copeland since 1997. Michelle has worked in various positions during her years at Copeland is currently working in the billing department and assists Matt Mitchell, John Copeland and Steven Hinding with special projects. The Copeland Coating Company has been successfully maintaining all of the sport surfaces at the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort for over 20 years (which is a testimony unto itself).

At each winter’s end, we contemplate the complete overhaul of our 40 year old exterior tennis courts , the crew at Copeland manages the near impossible in extending the life of these courts for yet another full season with their time tested re-coating process.

We maintain a high profile family resort that earns the prestigious 3 Diamond Travel Award every year. It is critical that wherever our guests are on our 500 acre facility, they experience an extremely well maintained, family friendly resort property.
